Welcome to the
HB40 Unincorporated Area Survey Site!

The amount of unincorporated land area in Salt Lake County is shrinking as new cities incorporate and existing cities annex adjacent lands.

House Bill 40 provides property owners and residents of unincorporated Salt Lake County an opportunity to voice how they wish to be governed. This is an chance to determine if you want to:

  • incorporate into a municipality;
  • annex to an adjoining municipality;
  • remain in the unincorporated area of the county and within the township area; or
  • remain in the unincorporated area of the county but withdraw from the township area

county

Our first big batch of mailed-in survey responses. Thank you Salt Lake County survey participants!

The survey is now closed. Thank you Salt Lake County participants, we have received a successful volume of survey submissions!

Click here if you are a Sandy Hills or Willow Canyon property owner.

The results of the survey will be available on this website later this Summer.
Elected officials willl use the survey information to make future governance decisions to annex, incorporate or remain as is.

The Center for Public Policy & Administration has been commissioned to help educate residents and property owners on the issue, and then conduct a survey to gauge residents' and property owners' preferences.
