You
have a right to
voice your preferences
for your future
governance
The
Utah Legislature has
required a survey be
conducted of all property
owners in
the unincorporated
townships of Salt Lake
County to determine
your preference
about the form of local
governance you desire.
The legislature and
local government
officials want to know
if you prefer to:
- incorporate
(form) a new city;
- annex
(join) into an
adjacent city;
- remain
in the unincorporated
area of the county
and within a township
(area restrictions
on future annexations
remain in place);
- remain
in the unincorporated
area of the county
but withdraw from
a
township area (no
restrictions on future
annexations).
The survey will be
conducted in April
2008. It will be your
chance to provide input
to the legislature
and to local officials
about the future governance
you desire in
your community. They
want to know what you
think about these options.
Unincorporated County
residents living outside
of townships will also
be able to
participate in the
survey, though their
survey results will
not be presented to
the
Utah Legislature.
